Pete and Gerry's Organic Eggs is located in the small town of Monroe right on the Connecticut River in New Hampshire's White Mountains. Originally called Hurd's Location and then West Lyman, Monroe was renamed for President James Monroe in 1854 when it separated from Lyman. The town population is approximately 850 people. Monroe continues to hold traditional events at the town hall like the annual Halloween parade and holiday craft fair. Every fall, people from the surrounding towns gather in Monroe for the Annual Lords Acre Auction where you can place your bid on items like cream puffs made by Monroe residents (often a top seller) and enjoy homemade donuts made right on the spot. Yum!

Monroe is the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else, so word tends to spread pretty quickly. Monroe is also well known for three events that bring the entire town together in the Monroe Town Hall (we do mean the entire town): The annual town meeting (more colorful than national politics, and Gerry is a town official), the fifth through eighth grade basketball tournament (more heated than the NBA playoffs), and the spring grade school play (more drama than Broadway). We have it pretty good up here
